We are proud to host the next Encuentros conference in Paris, the city of lights, which has one of the richest historical heritages of modern civilization. Kings, scholars, artists and revolutionaries have dwelled its streets since medieval times, creating a unique atmosphere where the past rejoins the present around the mythical Seine river. It is not only the main touristic destination in the world but also a leading research center in the medical, natural, exact and social sciences, attracting academics and intellectuals from all over the world.
Join us in this rich environment, where all the arts and sciences find each other in legendary universities, museums, cafes, bistrots, the most beautiful urban parks and landmarks of modern architecture.
The Encuentros Paris 2012 conference will be held at the Medicine Faculty of the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC).
The UPMC is the best ranked French University in the Shangai index and is a member of the PRES Sorbonne Universités, a Research and Superior Education Pole also composed by the Panthéon-Assas and Paris-Sorbonne universities.
Toghether, these institutions cover a wide range of disciplines among the Exact, Natural and Social sciences, aiming towards multidisciplinary cooperation. This scientific environment is an ideal choice to hold the Encuentros Paris 2012 conference, as one of our main objectives is approaching diverse disciplinary fields.
The Medicine Faculty of the UPMC is located at the 105 Boulevard de l'Hopital, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, minutes away to the city centre and next to the Seine, the Latin (Roman) neigbourhood and other urban landmarks.
